What is A+ Certification?

A+ Certification is a certificate, which demonstrates the competency of a person as a Computer Technician. This certificate is a vendor neutral certificate, given by a very well known computing authority, commonly known as CompTIA. The organization runs on a no-profit; no loss format. The organization incepted in 1982 with the commonly known name of ABCD. It was formed by the delegates of 5 microcomputer merchants. Later, its name was changed to Computing Technology Industry Association or Comp TIA. It is an association of corporations like Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard Cisco and Novell. Even other technology companies like Ricoh and CompuCom recognize its certificates and has made it compulsory for job prospects.

The A+ Certificate is the standard certificate in the Industry of Computers for the technicians supporting computer administration. This certificate proves a person's competence in various computers related trades as installation, maintenance, networking, prevention, and troubleshooting and most important security. The latest and the revised 2009 version of Comp TIA A+ Certificate require a technician to pass 2 tests via: - the A+ Essentials exams have code 220-701 and the Comp TIA A+ Examination, which bears a code of 220-702.

It tests the professional in the basics of computer techniques, communication skill, security and networking and even professionalisms.
